Chile police raids result in 13 arrests and detection of six irregular migrants
The Civil Police (PDI) carried out a large‑scale operation in the Biobío Province, deploying detectives to several communes. The raid led to the arrest of 13 individuals with active warrants and the seizure of illegal items. Those detained were placed under the custody of the Public Ministry for further legal processing, as part of the National Public Security Plan.
In a separate operation in the coastal towns of Quintero and Puchuncaví, PDI detectives worked with Navy personnel to conduct a focused checkpoint on 103 people. Subprefect Rosario Muñoz Córdova said the effort identified six foreign nationals in irregular migration status and uncovered two pending arrest warrants—for simple threats and contraband. The police indicated such inspections will continue in the jurisdiction.
