Chile power companies schedule widespread outages in Biobío and Santiago

The Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE) announced planned electricity interruptions for Thursday, 4 June, across several communes in the Biobío region, including Gran Concepción, Los Ángeles and surrounding areas. Cuts may last up to six hours, with specific time windows ranging from 09:00‑15:45 in San Pedro de la Paz to 10:00‑17:30 in Coronel and 11:00‑17:00 in Los Ángeles. CGE advised customers to disconnect appliances during the work and provided contact numbers for inquiries.

Enel reported scheduled power cuts for Tuesday, 2 June, affecting multiple communes in the Santiago metropolitan region. Interruptions could extend up to eight consecutive hours, with timings varying by sector. The utility emphasized that the outages are part of network‑improvement work, urged residents to unplug sensitive devices, and offered phone lines for support.
