Chile schedules power outages in Los Ángeles and Santiago
The state‑run utility CGE announced a planned interruption of electricity service in Los Ángeles, Biobío Region, on Friday 19 June. The cut, aimed at infrastructure repairs and upgrades, is expected to affect roughly 240 customers between 09:00 and 15:00 on Baquedano Street, with the possibility of an earlier restoration.
The private operator Enel also notified residents of five Santiago‑area communes – Maipú, Lo Espejo, La Cisterna, La Florida and Santiago – that scheduled cuts will take place on Saturday 20 June. Depending on the zone, outages may last up to six hours, from early morning until late afternoon, as part of maintenance and modernisation work on the city’s power grid.
