Chile tenders US$500 million in electrical transmission projects
Chile's National Electric Coordinator has opened technical bids for 19 transmission expansion projects, representing investments exceeding US$500 million. Nine companies submitted 48 technical offers to develop new substations and lines aimed at strengthening the country's electrical infrastructure.
Key projects include the Tiquel and Tiuquilemu substations connected by a 500 kV double-circuit line, which will enhance energy transport between the Maule and Ñuble regions. Other works include the Longovilo and Navidad substations to improve supply quality in the O’Higgins Region. Following the technical evaluation, economic bids are scheduled to be opened on November 3, 2026.
