Chile unveils heritage exhibition in Concepción and cultural program in Los Vilos

The Universidad San Sebastián’s Architecture department launched the “Huachipato: 80 years” exhibition in Talcahuano’s municipal hall to celebrate the 80‑year anniversary of the Compañía de Aceros del Pacífico. Funded by the regional Fondart, the itinerant show features photographs, aerial and ground video capsules, 3D models and detailed maquettes of the steel plant, aiming to preserve and promote the industrial heritage of Gran Concepción.

Separately, the Corporación Gestores del Choapa announced its 2026 cultural program for Los Vilos, financed by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage’s Puntos de Cultura Comunitaria scheme. The plan includes an audiovisual series interviewing local cultural contributors, a youth instrument workshop, a painting workshop for adults and seniors, and other activities designed to strengthen local identity and safeguard community memory.
