Chilean academics participate in legal seminars on real estate and elderly rights

Academic professionals in Chile recently participated in specialized legal seminars addressing real estate and family law. At the IV National Real Estate Law Conference, held at the Universidad de Chile, academics from the Universidad Diego Portales presented research on topics including family property constitution, construction delays in civil law, and demarcation actions.

Separately, the Universidad Andrés Bello Legal Clinic in Viña del Mar hosted the III Clinical Seminar in Family Law. This event focused on caregiving tasks within Chilean civil and family law, with a specific emphasis on Law No. 21.822, a new comprehensive legislation designed to protect the rights of older persons. The seminar addressed challenges regarding autonomy, social abandonment, and the need for institutional training to implement the new legal framework effectively.
