Chilean authorities conduct search and rescue operations

Search and rescue operations are underway in different parts of Chile to locate missing individuals.

In Isla Tabón, within the Calbuco commune, specialized team Dron Chile has been deployed to assist in the search for a young person who has been missing for six days. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles aims to expand the search perimeter and access areas with difficult terrain and dense vegetation. Authorities are also considering requesting support from the Grupo Agreste unit from Puerto Montt to reinforce land-based efforts.

In Bahía de Concepción, maritime authorities responded to an emergency involving two people falling into the sea. One individual was successfully rescued alive. The Chilean Navy has activated a search device involving maritime units, rubber boats, divers from the Segunda Zona Naval, and drone support to locate the second person.
