Chile and Spain implement measures to combat gender-based violence
Various regional and national initiatives are being launched to address gender-based violence and protect victims. In Chile, authorities in Valparaíso and Los Ríos are coordinating to strengthen protection mechanisms and institutional responses. In the Tarapacá region, the Iquique Court of Appeals held training sessions for judicial and municipal bodies regarding the new National Service for Access to Justice and the Victims' Defender, specifically focusing on gender-related cases.
Additionally, academic and social efforts are underway in Chile, such as research projects in Concepción aimed at understanding digital violence against women, LGBTIQ+ individuals, and migrants. In Spain, the Association of Journalists of Galicia is organizing a congress in Santiago de Compostela to discuss the challenges of virtual gender violence and the impact of artificial intelligence on equality.
In the agricultural sector in Chile, INDAP is working to strengthen the productive capacity and economic autonomy of rural women in the Maule region.
