Chilean Council for Transparency launches training for new state officials

The Council for Transparency (CPLT) has launched the ‘Transparency from Day One’ plan to train new government teams following a change in administration. The initiative aims to ensure that new authorities and officials understand their legal obligations regarding public information and accountability from the moment they assume office.

To date, the program has trained over 350 public officials across the country. Training sessions have targeted ministers, subsecretaries, and various central administration services. Key topics include the mandatory publication of information regarding the use of public resources, the operation of the Transparency Portal, and procedures for responding to citizen requests.

Recent sessions have also addressed sanctions for non-compliance with transparency laws, judicial decisions regarding access to information, and recommendations for making automated decision-making systems used by the state more transparent.
