Chilean educational institutions host nutrition and school meal evaluations

The Universidad Andrés Bello celebrated Food Day at its República Campus with an educational fair and lecture series. The event, organized by the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, focused on connecting scientific evidence to daily life through sustainable and healthy eating habits. Students presented technical food preparations designed to reduce waste, such as black bean brownies and lentil burgers. Expert speakers addressed topics including food safety, microplastics, and metabolic health.

In the Antofagasta Region, the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships (Junaeb) conducted a tasting session for the School Feeding Program (PAE) at the ICEDUC institute. The initiative aims to gather community feedback on potential menu updates for 2027. Participants, including students and parents, evaluated new dishes such as cauliflower and carrot salad, beef in juice, and fish pie to determine their suitability for future inclusion in the school meal program.
