Chilean football figures face setbacks as Everton exits Copa Chile and Vojvoda leaves Racing

Everton defender Diego Oyarzún has criticized the Chilean Football Association (ANFP) and the Chilean Football Federation following the club's elimination from the Copa Chile by Universidad de Chile. Oyarzún expressed frustration regarding the handling of a suspended match in the first leg, calling the governing bodies “incompetent and inefficient” and describing the situation as a “shameful day for national football.” Despite the exit, Oyarzún praised his teammates' commitment.

In Argentina, Racing Club has dismissed manager Juan Pablo Vojvoda following a series of poor results. Vojvoda, who was previously considered a candidate for the Chilean national team coaching position, departs after 13 matches, recording four wins, two draws, and seven losses. His tenure concluded following a Copa Argentina defeat against Boca Juniors, where Racing Club surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose the match.
