Chilean fruit exporters project growth in grapes and cherries

Chilean agricultural exporters are preparing for significant shifts in fruit production and market strategies. Agroval Fruit Export, a company specializing in cherries, blueberries, and raisins, is forecasting approximately 120 containers of cherries for the current season. The company is focusing on market diversification to mitigate risks associated with the Asian market, which includes major destinations such as China, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Separately, Frutas de Chile's Table Grape Committee has projected a 16.5% increase in table grape shipments for the 2026–27 season, reaching 67.9 million boxes. This growth is driven by a structural renewal in supply, with licensed varieties expected to account for over 72% of total exports. The industry also anticipates an earlier start to the season, with the national peak for grapes shifting from week 12 to week 11.
