Chilean government reshuffles communications team

Chilean Interior Undersecretary Máximo Pavez has stepped down from his role as a government spokesperson to focus on his responsibilities within the Undersecretariat of the Interior. Pavez described the change as a reorganization of functions within President José Antonio Kast’s administration, noting that officials must adapt to the evolving needs of the Executive.

Gonzalo Arenas has been appointed as the new government spokesperson. Following his appointment, Senate President Paulina Núñez met with Arenas at La Moneda to coordinate communication efforts between the Executive and Congress. The meeting aimed to establish a clear channel for disseminating the legislative agenda, pending projects, and recently passed initiatives to the public.
