Florencia Peña files 750 million‑peso lawsuit against Luzu TV
Argentine actress and TV host Florencia Peña is preparing a civil lawsuit against the digital platform Luzu TV, seeking about 750 million pesos. The claim covers alleged breach of her employment contract and damages after she was removed from the program following a live on‑air mistake that falsely reported the death of Jorge Messi, father of football captain Lionel Messi.
Peña’s lawyer, Fernando Burlando, says the termination was unilateral and caused significant professional and financial harm, adding compensation for emotional distress. Luzu TV’s founder Nicolás Occhiato acknowledged the error but denied any malicious intent or loss of advertisers, maintaining the company acted appropriately. The case is expected to proceed in Argentine courts.
