Chilean labor market sees bonus trends and 1,800 new seasonal jobs

As Chile approaches its Fiestas Patrias celebrations, new data highlights trends in holiday bonuses and seasonal employment. A survey by Robert Half reveals that 62% of workers expect to receive a holiday bonus (aguinaldo) this year. Among recipients, 42% expect between $50,000 and $100,000, while 13% anticipate more than $150,000. Regarding usage, 35% of workers plan to spend the funds on holiday-related expenses such as travel and recreation, 30% intend to pay off debts, and 20% plan to save or invest.

Simultaneously, ManpowerGroup Chile reports that approximately 1,800 temporary job vacancies will open across the country to meet seasonal demand. The retail and logistics sectors are leading this recruitment, seeking roles such as cashiers, store operators, shelf stockers, and warehouse workers. Monthly liquid salaries for these positions are expected to range from $340,000 for part-time roles to $750,000 for full-time positions, depending on the specific requirements and conditions.
