Chilean Ministry of Public Works announces $13 billion investment in Talca

The Chilean Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has announced 12 infrastructure projects in the Talca province, representing an investment exceeding $13 billion pesos. These initiatives, which are currently in the bidding stage, are part of the Plan Chile Despega regional investment strategy.

The projects aim to improve rural drinking water access in Mata Verde and Quebrada de Agua, enhance rainwater management through canal and collector conservation in Talca, Maule, and Constitución, and protect the banks of the Los Puercos stream in Pencahue. Additionally, the plan includes the maintenance of bridges, culverts, and road safety elements.

Execution of these works is expected to begin in early 2027, potentially creating approximately 250 jobs in the province. This is part of a broader regional investment of $31.6 billion pesos by the MOP, which is projected to generate around 600 jobs in total.
