Salta International Airport inaugurates major terminal expansion

The Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport in Salta, Argentina, has inaugurated a major expansion of its passenger terminal. This second stage of works is part of an integral infrastructure project with a total estimated investment of $110 million.

The upgrades increase the airport's operational capacity by 65%. Key features of the new terminal include a renovated main hall, 32 new check-in counters, and a 650-square-meter expansion of the domestic boarding area. The project also introduces new commercial services, such as drugstores, cafes, and banking services, alongside improved technical support buildings and electrical substations.

Governor Gustavo Sáenz described the infrastructure as a strategic tool to support the province's productive transformation, specifically noting its importance for tourism, mining, and industrial development in Northern Argentina. The expansion aims to accommodate the growing demand for air travel in the region, where Salta serves as a primary connectivity hub.
