Chilean municipalities implement support for elderly clubs

Municipalities in Chile are implementing various initiatives to support elderly populations. In Curicó, the local government, through the municipal council, distributed special subsidies to 40 elderly clubs. Each club received 50,000 pesos to support projects funded by SENAMA, aiming to strengthen the social participation and organized activities of senior citizens in the community.

In Penco, the municipality inaugurated a new 86-square-meter social headquarters for the Cerro Verde Alto Elderly Club. The project, representing a municipal investment of over 101 million pesos, replaces a previous 18-square-meter emergency facility. The new space is designed to accommodate more than 60 members, providing a dignified environment for community gatherings and activities.
