Chilean municipal community and social projects
Overview
Municipalities in Chile have been implementing various community infrastructure and social support projects. In the Biobío Region, investments were directed toward public spaces and social hubs, including the renovation of Plaza O’Higgins in Quilleco and the inauguration of the Arturo Pérez Canto Community Center in Curanilahue.
Subsequent initiatives have focused on supporting elderly populations. In Curicó, the municipal council distributed subsidies to 40 elderly clubs to bolster social participation. In Penco, the municipality inaugurated a new 86-square-meter social headquarters for the Cerro Verde Alto Elderly Club, replacing a smaller emergency facility to provide a more dignified space for community activities.
