Chilean Navy finds body during search for Sea King II
The Chilean Navy has recovered the body of one crew member and located the motorboat “Sea King II” following its disappearance on October 18 in the Angostura Inglesa sector, near Puerto Edén.
The body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon near Moat Island by fishing vessels and the maritime unit LSR “Kawesqar”. Criminal investigators from the PDI (Investigative Police) conducted a medical examination, which found no external injuries suggesting third-party involvement.
While the vessel and one crew member have been accounted for, search operations continue to locate the second missing crew member. The operation has involved multiple naval units, including the maritime action boat “Casma,” and aerial support from the Southern Aeronaval Group.
