Chilean Navy participates in international maritime exercises

The Chilean Navy is actively participating in major international maritime exercises. The ocean patrol vessel OPV-84 ‘Cabo Odger’ has arrived in Peru to take part in the LXVII edition of the UNITAS multinational exercise, scheduled from September 10 to 24. The vessel, which features an onboard Dauphin helicopter, is intended to support search and rescue, reconnaissance, and maritime security interoperability among approximately 24 participating nations.

Additionally, the Type 23FF-05 frigate ‘Almirante Cochrane’ has returned to Valparaíso following its deployment for Operation Pacific 2026. During this period, the frigate participated in RIMPAC 2026, marking 30 years of Chilean involvement in the exercise, and made its debut in Pacific Dragon, an integrated air and missile defense exercise involving seven nations, including the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
