Chilean Navy searches for missing crew member in Concepción Bay

The Chilean Navy is conducting an extensive search operation for an Ecuadorian citizen who went missing after a Zodiac boat overturned in Concepción Bay, off the coast of Talcahuano.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon while two crew members were returning to the vessel 'El Manantial' after collecting food and water. While one individual was successfully rescued and transported to Las Higueras Hospital, the second person remains missing.

The search effort, now in its second day, involves maritime units, land patrols, divers, and drone support. Captain Camila Ovalle Lagos confirmed that coordinated efforts are being concentrated on specific sectors to locate the missing crew member.
