Chilean police seize over 70 kilos of drugs in multiple anti‑narcotics raids
Carabineros carried out a series of anti‑narcotics operations across Chile. In Algarrobo, police seized 101 g of marijuana, 46 g of cocaine base and 10 g of cocaine hydrochloride, along with cash and other items, and detained five suspects with prior robbery and drug‑trafficking records.
In the commune of Machalí, four men were arrested after raids uncovered cocaine base, marijuana, cocaine hydrochloride, creatine, cash worth approximately 1.58 million Chilean pesos and a pistol charger. The suspects, aged 27‑32, faced multiple existing warrants.
Further north in Iquique, a vehicle inspection on the A‑16 route led to the seizure of 58.5 kg of marijuana and 5.1 kg of ketamine hidden in a blanket, as well as the arrest of a Venezuelan driver. The operation removed an estimated 117 000 doses from circulation and the seized substances were handed to health authorities for destruction.
