Chilean President leads national flag raising ceremony

President José Antonio Kast led a ceremony for the raising of the Great National Flag at the Plaza de la Ciudadanía to mark the beginning of the Patriotic Month and the Glories of the Army.

The event included the participation of Defense Minister Fernando Barros, Army Commander-in-Chief General Pedro Varela, and other high-ranking civil and military officials. The ceremony, organized by the Chilean Army, serves as a civic ritual intended to strengthen respect for national symbols and connect citizens with the country's republican traditions during the month of September.
