Chilean regional governments launch initiatives to promote viticulture

Regional authorities in Chile are implementing new strategies to strengthen the domestic and international presence of their wine sectors. In the Maule Region, the official launch of WineMaule 2026 was held to promote the territory's viticultural identity and create commercial opportunities for local producers. The initiative aims to connect vineyards with foreign importers while integrating wine production with regional tourism and gastronomy.

Simultaneously, in the Ñuble Region, the Regional Government and the University of Bío-Bío have signed the base regulations for a new quality seal for Itata wines. This certification system is designed to recognize the origin and production standards of the valley's wines, particularly those made from heritage varieties. To support this, a technological wine laboratory was established in Chillán to provide local producers with technical analysis, reducing costs and time for certification processes.
