Chilean regional programs launch training for women

Various regional initiatives in Chile are focusing on enhancing economic autonomy for women through specialized training and entrepreneurship programs.

In the Antofagasta region, 65 women from several communes, including Calama and San Pedro de Atacama, completed the second phase of the ‘Mujer Emprende’ program. Organized by SernamEG in collaboration with Codeinfa, the program focused on building professional networks and business development strategies. Participants received training in regional diagnosis, customer service, and business creation.

In the Maule region, the ‘Mujeres Gásfiter’ program has launched a new iteration. This partnership between Nuevosur, SernamEG, and the Chilean Chamber of Construction provides 20 women with practical training in sanitary plumbing installations. The initiative aims to increase female employability in traditionally male-dominated sectors and promote economic independence.
