Chilean students recognized in national BookTubers competition
Students in Chile have been recognized through the national “BookTubers” competition, an initiative by the Ministry of Education’s School Reading and Library Center (CRA) designed to encourage reading and communication through video reviews.
In the Los Ríos Region, eight students were honored during a regional ceremony. The competition saw participation from 231 students who recorded reviews on various themes, including fantasy, the environment, and mystery. Notable winners included Monserrat Neira Pulgar, who reviewed “El Club de los Raros” in the Pre-K to 2nd grade category.
In the Tarapacá Region, nine students were selected as regional representatives after participating in a pool of approximately 150 students from Iquique, Alto Hospicio, Huara, and Cariquima. These participants recorded videos answering the question, “Which book changed your life?” covering genres such as science fiction, adventure, and historical fiction. The initiative aims to turn students into reading promoters within their own educational communities.
