Chilean university students engage in design exhibitions and social work field practices

First-year Industrial Design students at the University of Santiago de Chile recently held their first public exhibition. As part of the Composition in Design course led by Professor Bárbara Wettling Carpio, students presented works exploring form, volume, structure, and color. The projects included the creation of modular structures using materials such as pulp, paper, and cardboard.

In Viña del Mar, third-year Social Work students from Universidad Andrés Bello have begun their first field practice. Working through the University Research and Social Intervention Community (CIINSU), students will engage directly with social organizations in areas affected by recent mega-fires, including Lomas La Torre and Achupallas. The program involves workshops, psychosocial support, and activities with elderly populations to connect academic learning with real-world community needs.
