Chile's Carabineros probe firearm incidents in Copiapó and La Cisterna

In Copiapó, Atacama Region, a police officer from the 2ª Comisaría was captured on video brandishing a presumed firearm during a dispute after an amateur football match between O’Higgins and Bio Cobre. Carabineros confirmed the individual was a police employee and opened an administrative investigation, forwarding the case to the Public Ministry.

Separately, in the La Cisterna district of Santiago, Carabineros of the 10ª Comisaría responded to a shooting at a residence on Santa Clara street. Investigators identified a vehicle used by the suspects, seized a hidden "ghost gun"—an unregistered firearm—and arrested an adult foreign man and a minor foreign woman, who are being questioned in connection with the attack.
