Chile's Central Regions Promote Winter Tourism as Visitor Numbers Rise

The regional government of Ñuble, together with Sernatur, showcased six winter‑tourism destinations at Mall Plaza Trébol in Talcahuano. The event highlighted snow activities, mountain experiences, wine tasting from the Itata Valley and local artisans, aiming to attract visitors from the neighboring Biobío market for the 2026 season.

In the Valparaíso Region, winter school holidays were moved forward to 22 June–3 July, driving hotel occupancy above 50 % in Viña del Mar and surrounding coastal towns. Daily rentals for families of up to four people range from 90,000 to 150,000 Chilean pesos, while tourists also enjoy cultural sites, vineyards in the Casablanca Valley and local theatre programs.
