Chile's Talca and Valparaíso launch free winter vacation programs for families

The municipality of Talca (Chile) announced a free winter‑vacation program running from 19 June to 6 July. More than ten sports and recreational activities – including football, basketball, handball, climbing, table‑tennis and inclusive options for students with special needs – will be offered at several local gyms and the municipal stadium. A “Deporte Aventura en Familia” series runs 22 June‑3 July, and free heritage tours of the city’s historic sites are also scheduled. Registration is open for parents or guardians at the venues between 16 and 19 June.

The Parque Cultural de Valparaíso announced its “Parque en Invierno” edition, providing over 20 free activities for children, teens and families from 23 June to 5 July. The programme includes workshops, creative labs, artistic performances, scientific explorations and community actions, organized with partners such as the municipal government, local universities and cultural NGOs. All events are open to the public at no cost, with registration via the park’s social‑media channels.

Both initiatives aim to give families affordable, safe and educational options during the school break, promoting physical activity, cultural participation and community engagement.
