Chile launches $5.5 billion CLP Cultural Heritage Fund for 2026

Chile's Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage has launched the 2026 call for the Cultural Heritage Fund (Fondo del Patrimonio Cultural), featuring a record budget of $5.5 billion CLP for national and regional projects.

Managed by the National Service of Cultural Heritage (Serpat), this eighth edition aims to strengthen the protection of national heritage to promote social cohesion and identity. The fund is open to individuals and legal entities, including municipalities, universities, and indigenous communities.

The 2026 program introduces new sub-modalities, including financing for the conservation, restoration, and risk management of movable cultural heritage. It also features an independent application line for Public Monuments to prioritize the recovery and relocation of these national assets.

Funding is divided into several lines, including interventions in officially protected buildings—with maximum grants of $35 million CLP for design and $150 million CLP for execution—and the acquisition of specialized technical equipment for heritage safeguarding.
