Chile's Maule and Atacama Regions Invest Over 350 Million Pesos in Health and Road Services

The regional government of Maule allocated more than 324 million Chilean pesos to acquire a dump‑truck for the municipality of Vichuquén and a minibuss for the Hospital Santa Rosa in Molina. The truck will improve rural road maintenance and emergency response for around 4,300 residents, while the minibuss will support home‑care visits for roughly 76,000 health‑service users. Governor Pedro Pablo Álvarez‑Salamanca said the investment “responds to real needs of both communes.”

In the neighbouring Atacama region, officials announced financing of a new CESFAM (primary health centre) in Copiapó with a budget exceeding 25 billion pesos and the purchase of a basic ambulance for the SAMU worth more than 101 million pesos. The 4,500‑square‑metre centre will serve over 30,000 users and include clinical, dental and gynecological services. Health director Juan Pablo Rojas called the projects “two tremendous news for our region”.
