Chile's Ñuble exports and national gold output post strong gains in early 2026

Exports from Chile's Ñuble region rose 25.7% year‑on‑year in the first half of 2026, reaching US$806 million. The forest sector contributed US$427 million, led by cellulose shipments of US$261 million, while agricultural exports grew 40.5% to US$363 million, driven by frozen berries and other fruits. China remained the top market (34% of shipments), followed by the United States (27%).

National gold production hit a new record, with 21.2 tonnes mined in the first five months of 2026 – a 26% increase over the same period in 2025 and the highest level since 2013. Gold exports jumped to US$2.4 billion, nearly double the previous year, as prices averaged US$4,699 per ounce, up 53% YoY. Meanwhile, copper output fell 9% to 2 million tonnes and silver output rose 13% to 571 tonnes.
