Mexico invests over 110 million pesos in Chimalhuacán infrastructure under Plan Zona Oriente

The federal government presented the main advances of the Integral Zone East Plan (Plan Integral Zona Oriente) in a conference led by President Claudia Sheinbaum. The plan allocates roughly 110 million pesos for the State of Mexico, adding to the 95 million pesos already spent annually on welfare programs in the region.

Chimalhuacán mayor Xóchitl Flores Jiménez thanked President Sheinbaum and State governor Delfina Gómez for coordinating the municipality’s transformation. Among the projects announced is the construction of a new Regional Hospital, slated to begin in October with an investment of 2.1 billion pesos. The hospital will have 535 beds, 41 specialties and advanced equipment, aiming to serve 317,333 residents and be completed by December 2028. Additional works include the start of three bridge constructions in August.
