China exports exceed $100 billion to Africa in H1 2025
Chinese exports to Africa exceeded $100 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of approximately 21.6%. This surge is driven by rising demand for manufactured goods, machinery, vehicles, and electronic equipment, fueled by industrialization and infrastructure expansion across the continent.
Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt are the primary importers, collectively absorbing about one-third of Chinese exports to Africa during the first seven months of 2025. Additionally, smaller markets such as Guinea, Angola, and Malawi have seen rapid growth, with some recording year-on-year increases in imports exceeding 60%. Specific growth sectors include construction machinery, which saw a 63% increase in shipments to the continent.
