China hosts major media forums in Fuzhou and Beijing
China is hosting two significant international media events: the 2026 Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road in Fuzhou and the upcoming 7th World Media Summit in Beijing.
The Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road, held in Fuzhou from November 3 to 4, marks a decade of media collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative. Organized by People’s Daily, the forum brought together over 200 representatives from nearly 90 countries. Discussions focused on the role of media in a changing geopolitical landscape, the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence, and the importance of regional collaboration to build informational bridges between Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
Following this, the 7th World Media Summit is scheduled to take place in Beijing from November 5 to 9. Jointly organized by Xinhua News Agency and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the summit expects nearly 500 delegates from 112 countries. The event, themed “Media in the Intelligent Age: From Consensus to Action,” will address the transformation of global media through AI, global communication governance, and the role of emerging technologies in fostering intercultural exchange.
