China flood relief: Emergency teams seal Henan dike breach and manage widespread rainfall

Heavy rainfall and typhoons have triggered widespread flooding across multiple regions in China, prompting large-scale emergency responses and relief efforts.

In Henan Province, a 117-meter breach in the Jialu River dike in Chuanhui District was successfully sealed on August 15 after intense rescue operations involving the China Anning Group and various emergency services. The central government has allocated 30 million yuan to support post-flood recovery in the province.

In Guangxi, severe storms affected 78 counties and 2.6 million people. The government has increased funding for disaster recovery, including an additional 100 million yuan from the National Development and Reform Commission, while local authorities focus on restoring power, communications, and agriculture.

Other regions, including Shanxi, Zhejiang, Jilin, and Hebei, have also faced significant challenges. In Shanxi's Lingchuan County, thousands of residents were relocated to emergency shelters. Across various provinces, local party organizations and emergency responders have been active in evacuating residents, repairing infrastructure, and managing geological risks to ensure public safety.
