China Police Liaison Team sponsors youth crime prevention contest in Solomon Islands

The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT), in collaboration with the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) and the Chinese Association for Schools in Honiara, sponsored a crime prevention speech competition at Chung Wah School on August 21.

Attended by Acting Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) James Aitorea, the event brought together students from various Honiara schools to discuss issues such as cyber safety, youth mentorship, responsible citizenship, and peer support. The competition aimed to encourage young people to take active roles in building safer communities and rejecting harmful behaviors like bullying, drug use, and vandalism.

The contest featured junior and senior categories. Winners included a student from Selwyn College in the junior category and a student from Betikama School in the senior category.
