China praises Indonesia following $10.2 billion investment deal
China has commended Indonesia for its commitment to protecting foreign investment following the launch of 11 downstream industrial projects worth $10.2 billion. These projects, backed by Chinese support, are located in the Weda Bay Industrial Park in Central Halmahera, North Maluku.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that the success of Chinese companies in Indonesia contributes to the nation's own success. She expressed confidence that the Indonesian government will continue to provide an open, fair, transparent, and friendly business environment that protects the legal rights and interests of Chinese firms.
The cooperation focuses on mutually beneficial sectors including energy and mining, leveraging the respective strengths of both nations. This partnership follows the strategic understandings established between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese President Xi Jinping, aimed at transforming Indonesia's resource advantages into economic development drivers.
