US Military Strikes Dozens of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Targets
The U.S. Central Command announced that on the night of July 29, U.S. forces carried out a large‑scale strike against Iran, hitting dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) sites. Targets included military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal monitoring and defence stations, and assets related to maritime operations.
The action was described as a response to an attempted missile attack on U.S. forces in the region. The command noted that more than 50,000 U.S. personnel remain deployed across the Middle East and are on heightened alert. Earlier, on July 28, Iran launched a missile barrage that U.S. forces intercepted. President Donald Trump subsequently warned that the United States would “hit Iran hard” in retaliation, and the airstrikes resumed at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, ending a brief cease‑fire that had begun on July 24.
