China rolls out driverless parcel vans in Suzhou and unmanned‑vehicle subway deliveries in Shenzhen

Momenta has begun operating driverless Robovan parcel deliveries in the Xiangcheng district of Suzhou, Jiangsu province. The vans run on Momenta’s map‑free R7 world model, which draws on more than 12 billion km of passenger‑car data and eliminates the need for costly high‑definition maps, aiming to lower per‑drop costs.

JD Logistics launched a nationwide first "unmanned vehicle + subway" same‑city delivery system in Shenzhen’s Pingshan district. Packages are moved from a warehouse onto autonomous vehicles, transferred to a metro train, and handed to another vehicle for final delivery, cutting transport costs by about 60% and improving capacity utilization by 10%. The company has deployed nearly 100 unmanned vehicles across 22 hubs and opened 121 night‑delivery routes.
