China's Autonomy Firms Boost Unmanned Freight Vehicles

Chinese autonomous‑driving companies are shifting from passenger‑car solutions to unmanned logistics, rapidly launching L4‑level delivery vans. Notable entrants include Youjia Innovation, Light Boat Aviation, Pony.ai, and others, with the sector dubbed 2025 the "year of unmanned delivery" and projected to produce up to 860,000 vehicles annually by 2030.

Momenta has entered the unmanned cargo market with its Robovan platform, operating in Suzhou for several months. The firm, recently listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, reports its autonomous‑driving system is now on over one million vehicles worldwide, covering more than 100 model families and collaborating with global automakers. It also received a Shenzhen test licence for L4 Robotaxi services.
