China's logistics sector expands in June 2026, index rises to 50.6%

The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing reported that the national logistics activity index rose to 50.6 in June 2026, a 0.3‑point increase from May. Nine of the 12 sub‑indices remained in expansion territory, indicating balanced growth across regions. Demand for logistics services stayed strong in manufacturing, especially for electronic equipment, machinery, telecom gear, transport equipment and energy‑saving appliances. Consumer‑driven logistics also held steady, boosted by holiday spending that lifted wholesale, retail and supermarket activity. Sub‑indices for fixed‑asset investment and transport modes showed gains, with air transport posting the largest rise. The overall picture suggests a modest but broad‑based strengthening of China’s logistics sector.
