China's Wang Yi and Xi Jinping Host Foreign Ministers in Shanghai for AI Conference

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Dominica's Foreign Minister Vince Henderson, Lesotho's Foreign Minister Limpho Thau, and Indonesia's Economic Coordination Minister Airlangga Hartarto in Shanghai on July 18‑19. The talks, held alongside a global artificial intelligence conference, highlighted China’s support for AI development in smaller and developing nations and called for deeper strategic cooperation.

President Xi Jinping also hosted Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Shangri‑La Hotel in Shanghai. Xi stressed the long‑standing friendship between China and Thailand, urged enhanced collaboration in AI, aerospace, clean energy, tourism and education, and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the one‑China policy. Both meetings were framed as part of China’s broader diplomatic outreach at the AI summit.
