Chinese automakers GWM and Changan expand Italian market presence
Chinese automotive manufacturers Great Wall Motors (GWM) and Changan are expanding their presence in the Italian market with new hybrid and plug-in models.
GWM has introduced the H7 hybrid SUV to Italy as part of its broader European expansion strategy. The vehicle features a robust design with a length of 4.68 meters and includes a high-tech interior with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. To support its market entry, GWM is investing in a European ecosystem of sales and after-sales service centers, offering an extended warranty of 7 years or 150,000 km, with battery coverage potentially reaching 8 years or 160,000 km.
Changan is also growing its Deepal product line in Italy. Following the release of the Deepal S05 and S07 electric crossovers, the company announced a new plug-in hybrid version of the Deepal S07, expected to reach dealerships by late 2026. The S07 plug-in features a combined power of 258 CV and was designed at the Rivoli Style Center in Turin, Italy, highlighting the brand's connection to European design.
