Chinese car brands reach record market share in Poland

Chinese automotive brands have reached a record 15.9% market share in Poland as of August 2026. While Toyota remains the overall market leader with a 13.94% share, Chinese manufacturers are rapidly expanding their presence.

In August 2026, BYD emerged as the leading Chinese brand by monthly registrations, though MG maintained the highest cumulative sales for the period of January to August. Other notable brands include Omoda and Jaecoo, both of which have seen significant growth in SUV registrations.

As part of this expansion, brands under the Omoda and Jaecoo umbrella are transitioning toward hybrid powertrains. For instance, the 2026 Jaecoo 5 model is being offered exclusively as a hybrid, providing higher horsepower and better fuel efficiency compared to previous internal combustion versions. Similarly, the Omoda 5 hybrid offers a significant increase in power for a relatively small price premium over its combustion counterpart.
