Chinese EV brands dominate electric vehicle indices in Germany
The electricar E-Auto-Report Q2/2026 indicates a strong presence of Chinese manufacturers in the German electric vehicle market. Chinese brands secured 15 of the 33 podium positions across various indices and lead five of the eleven total indices evaluated.
In the upper middle class segment, the nine highest-ranked models are from Zeekr, XPeng, and BYD, with European vehicles only appearing from the tenth rank onward. In the compact class, the top seven positions are held by Leapmotor, MG, and Changan.
Leapmotor emerged as a leader in three categories, including mini and small cars with the B03X Pro. Zeekr also performed strongly, leading two indices, including the long-distance index with a record value of 97.3 percent.
