Chinese EV brands Dongfeng and iCaur gear up for Brazil launches
Dongfeng Motor Corporation will introduce its DFM brand in Brazil with the electric compact SUV Vigo and the electric hatch Box. The Vigo will be offered in Urban and Urban Plus trims, sharing a 163 hp front‑motor and either a 51.1 kWh battery delivering up to 340 km or a 54 kWh unit for up to 470 km. Both models will debut at the Festival Interlagos, and Dongfeng is in talks with Nissan and Stellantis about local production.
Chery Automobile Co.'s iCaur division, announced as its fourth brand for Brazil, plans to launch electric SUVs aimed at younger buyers. The flagship V27 is a large EREV SUV with a 1.5‑litre turbo generator, up to 449 hp and a combined range exceeding 1,200 km (CLTC). A smaller V23 model offers fully electric power and up to 501 km of range. The iCaur brand is expected to start sales in 2026, with the name pronounced “iCar” to avoid trademark conflicts.
