Chinese EV manufacturers XPeng and BYD target Spanish market

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers are expanding their presence in the Spanish market with a focus on addressing consumer concerns regarding charging times and efficiency.

The XPeng G6, a 252 CV SUV, is positioned as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. It features a 67.8 kWh battery capable of a 10% to 80% charge in just 12 minutes when using 451 kW fast charging. The entry-level version offers an autonomy of 455 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

Meanwhile, BYD continues to offer a range of electric models, including the ATTO 3 EVO. This model provides up to 510 km of WLTP autonomy and supports fast charging up to 220 kW. The industry focus remains on energy consumption, measured in kWh/100 km, as a key metric for vehicle efficiency alongside battery capacity and charging speed.
